The swankiest area on Bali's west coast, Seminyak is
dotted with luxury villas, upscale bars and restaurants.
Although it may not boast the big international superstars
of Nusa Dua, a lot of the hotels here offer a bit more
character and a good deal more privacy.

"Originally, we built the villas to give friends
a place to chill out in Bali," begins Laurent Kuenzle,
explaining the story behind "Space" - a "rustic-chic"
resort the Swiss expat and his partners at Asian Trail
have put together on the island.
THREE of Asian Trails top executives, Mr Laurent Kuenzle,
Mr Jacques Guichandut and Mr Roger Haumueller, have
collaborated on a new venture – a six-villa resort
in Seminyak, Bali, which will open in January.
